Mini Face Lift - Dallas Derm Patient Shares Her Experience
Michael L. Maris, MD Dallas, TX
Beth East is 51 years old, originally from Ohio and also lived in Pittsburgh and Houston before settling with her husband in Dallas after their first daughter was born. They own A1 Locksmith and have 3 grown children.
As Beth walked in to the office to talk with Dallas Health and Beauty about her mini face lift, my first impression was that she had to be in her late thirties, and I found myself thinking "Why on earth did a woman in her 30's need a face lift?" Beth says "it's all genetics, you know, my dad looked like he was 48 when he passed away at 58." Genetics and a healthy lifestyle combined go a long way. She goes to spin class every day, doesn't smoke, and the only other cosmetic procedure she does is a bit of Botox between her eyes (the glabella). Beth's husband had already undergone laser skin resurfacing with Dr. Maris after a lifelong battle with acne scarring. Oddly enough, skin issues was what originally caused Beth to meet her husband while living in Houston. She was working as a facialist at a skin care salon, and he came in for an appointment. They met there, and the rest is history! So Beth went in for Botox and during her consultation told Dr. Maris, "My neck really bugs me!" Dr. Maris explained the mini face lift procedure and was confident that for Beth's particular needs, he could do a mini face lift and match the results of any plastic surgeon in town.
Her biggest worry on surgery day was the local anesthesia, that it wouldn't be enough to keep her calm during the procedure, but as soon as Jennifer (Dr. Maris' nurse) put all of the shots in, she couldn't feel a thing. After she went home, she was swollen and had a bit of pain for a few days but only needed vicodin to control it. Beth says now it was the “best thing she's ever done!"
